Immigration centre plan discussed
BBC News
Plans to use part of an RAF base in Norfolk as an immigration detention and removal centre are being discussed at a meeting of local residents.
RAF Coltishall was built in 1939.
RAF Coltishall, north of Norwich, is due to close later this year and the site's future has yet to be decided.
This week it was revealed a third of the base was being considered for conversion into a detention centre.
People from the village have been visiting the church rooms through the day to voice their opinion on the idea.
Parish councillors said that, so far, the majority of people were against the plans.
The airfield was a former Battle of Britain base in World War II.
