Four male stowaways who crossed the Atlantic Ocean inside a shipping container were arrested in Truro, N.S., this weekend, shortly after leaving their ship at the Halifax Port.
The men have not been identified and it's unknown which country they came from.
Officials from the Canada Border Services Agency are now investigating the incident, but did not speak to reporters Sunday.
It's believed the men arrived in Halifax sometime between Saturday night and early Sunday. They then made their way to Truro, roughly 100 kilometres away, where police tracked them down and place them in custody.
According to a 2001 estimate by Canadian immigration officials, up to 30 illegal aliens arrive in Halifax each year.
