Corpus Christi, TX (AP) — Homeland Securitys newest weapon began patrolling the skies over the Texas border on Wednesday.
The Predator B drone took its first flight from the Air Naval Station in Corpus Christi.
The unmanned surveillance aircraft will monitor the U.S.-Mexico border from Brownsville to El Paso.
The new drone is in response to the bill signed in August by President Obama providing $600 million in emergency border protection funding.
There are now four drones covering the entire border from California to Texas.
