EIGHT VIEWS FROM CANADIANS : COLLEGES 'SELL' CANADIAN VISAS ; WE NEED AN IMMIGRATION MORATORIUM ; IMMIGRATION SHOULD HELP CANADA, NOT COST US ; JESUS WOULD NOT HAVE APPROVED OF MASS IMMIGRATION ; ETC.
(1) PRIVATE COLLEGES ARE SELLING CANADIAN VISAS
PL : Have you noticed how many private colleges have popped up in Vancouver in recent years? Because the Liberal provincial government recognizes most that appear, I assume it is very easy for immigrants to open up their own college and get provincial approval. Under the guise of offering courses, the colleges offer immigrants a way to bring relatives in quickly too, instead of waiting for years in the queue. Once I saw an ad (in Chinese as well as in English) in the classified section of 24 Hours newspaper. It said the college could get you a visa approval fast. Since the ad was in a Canadian newspaper and not abroad, I assume it was aimed at people here who want to get their family or friends into Canada.
(2) WE NEED AN IMMIGRATION MORATORIUM
AJ : If importing over 250,000 immigrants in good times is unwise, it is the height of folly to do so at a time when each month thousands of Canadians are losing their jobs. Mr. Kenney has had the good sense to express doubts about the wisdom of continuing to accept a large number of immigrants during the current economic downturn. He has to go much further. He should urge his cabinet colleagues to impose a 5-year moratorium on immigration. That should alleviate the plight of unemployed Canadians.
(3) CANADIANS SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR OUR IMMIGRATION PROGRAMME
L2 : CTV newsnet had a short news story about how educated new immigrants with university education have more than 3 times the unemployment rate as Canadian-born. The Feds have given over $65 million to try to get immigrant credentials recognized. What is going on? What we should be saying is that the Immigration system should not cost Canadians money. Why should Canadians be paying for this checking system? Why should employers be forced to recognize questionable credentials of the 3rd world when Canada could be bringing most of our immigrants from the first world where credentials can be checked much more easily for fraud?
(4) POLITICAL CORRECTNESS IS UNILATERAL DISARMAMENT FOR WHITE GENTILES
DT : Political correctness is a sort of unilateral moral disarmament of White Gentiles. Muslims in the West should be made to understand that we will not abandon such precious achievements as freedom of speech and religion for their sake. They were not forced to come here. If they prefer Islamic societies, they can remain there.
(5) OUR HIGH SCHOOL GRADS ARE BEING DISPLACED FROM COLLEGE PROGRAMS
WR : If you have been looking at some of the waiting lists for programs at colleges like Vancouver Community College, you will see that they have grown longer and longer for some programs. I happen to know from a good source that the Licensed Practical Nurse program and other programs have as high as 90% foreign-born in the classes.The waiting list for the LPN program has grown from 1 to 3 years long in recent years. Some are the children of immigrants of course, but many are older people trying to find a way to make a living here. Why are we taking so many people that need to be retrained when they get here? It is unfair for high school graduates here that the waiting lists are being clogged up with new immigrants.
(6) JESUS WOULD NOT HAVE APPROVED OF MASS IMMIGRATION
BT : Regarding Jesus as an immigration reformer : Jesus was a good Jew, in a religious as well a national sense. As such, he would not have welcomed the massive entry of foreigners into Jewish territory because they would have undermined Jewish traditions, as the Romans did through their superior power.
(7) THE BEST IMMIGRATION CONTROLS
TD : I don't doubt that fraud plays some role in immigration, as it does in the refugee determination process. However, ultimately the most effective immigration control is a much lower number of legal immigrants and a hard line towards illegal immigrants.
(8) KENNEY CONTRADICTS HIMSELF
W22 : The strange thing about Canada's Immigration Minister, Jason Kenney, is that he is an avowed Monarchist, so you would think that he would be the last person to destroy some of this country's cultural heritage. But he stood up in parliament as well as on CBC's “Politics with Don Newman”, practically bragging about the levels of immigration. Incredible !!!!
